What Have I Got to Lose Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
I started to write you a letter the other day
I didn't know exactly what I was going to say
And at the last minute I threw it away
'Cause I didn't think you'd read it anyway'Cause see, I'm the kind of man who's glass is half full
But I'm a bit torn from the strings you pulled
And since I already felt a bit abused
I just thought to myself, I thought to myselfOh, what have I got to lose?
'Cause I can't fall much further down
And look what I've got to win
If you would only hear my heartYesterday I actually tried calling

But that was after six days and six nights of stalling
And I thought about everything that we've been through
All the different places that we went to
I never thought we'd go thereBut the times we hurt each other, sometimes we meant to
Trying to make up with flowers that I sent you
But now I'm at the crossroads and it's time to choose
And I guess I just figured, what the hellOh, what have I got to lose
'Cause I've already come this far, yes
And look what I've got to win
If you would only search my heart and see what's deep insideSee, I don't wanna go to sleep, 'cause I, I don't want to dream
I always wake up with tears it seems
But I can't blame it on you so it must be me
I'll beg for forgiveness if that's what I need to do'Cause I ain't got nothing to lose, no
(What have I got to lose)
'Cause I've lost the one thing missing from my life
But look what I've got to win
(Look what I've got to win)
If only I can get you to hear my heart
And see what it's saying to youWhat have I got to lose, baby?
(What have I got to lose?)
When all I've lost is the everything that I need
And look what I've got to win
(Look what I've got to win)
If you'll only listen, listen, listen to my heart(What have I got to lose?)
I ain't got nothing to lose
(Look what I've got to win)
Listen, listen to my heart, yeah
I ain't got nothing to lose

Blessid Union of Souls is an American rock band from Cincinnati that was formed in 1990 by Jeff Pence and Eliot Sloan. The current touring band members are singer Eliot Sloan (original member), bassist Tony Clark (original member), drummer Shaun Schaefer (Vinyltones), and guitarist Bryan Billhimer (Vinyltones). Two former touring members, keyboard and bassist C.P. Roth and drummer Eddie Hedges, left the band in 2002.

Some of the band's biggest hits include "I Believe," "Hey, Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me)," "I Wanna Be There," and "Brother My Brother" which was used in the US release of the first Pokemon movie. Their debut album, "Home," was certified gold by the RIAA in 1995.

In 2000, several of the band's songs were scheduled for use during the production of a film entitled "Standing at the Edge of the Earth" by Fizzle Freak Productions. The film would have co-starred the band's bassist Tony Clark, as well as the rest of the band featured in prominent roles. The film's production was canceled in late 2000 early 2001 due to legal and financial issues.

In 2006, Jeff Pence headed a project in which the band contributed two tracks for "Clutch Hits," a CD that featured a variety of artists singing about the Cincinnati Reds. The songs were entitled "Play Ball" and "Me, Marty, Joe, Ted & Louise." The project was a fund raiser for the Reds Community Fund.
