Answering Service Lyrics

Hello, this is Angela, I'm sorry
I'm unable to answer this call right now
So please at the sound of the beep
Leave your name and number
And I will contact you as soon as possibleI know you're there baby
It just ain't right
The way you're treating me
I just wish you would listen and open upAnd try to understand how I feel
I miss you, I love you
And I just want you to know
I'll always be thereI love you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering service
I need you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering serviceGirl, I know that I hurt you and I apologize
But I would feel so much better
If I could look into those big brown eyes
Oh baby, is there a pleasure you get
In making me suffer like this? OhI just wanna hear you say

Hear you say I love you
Girl that's what I really miss
Why you wanna treat me like this?I love you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering service
I need you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering serviceI know your girlfriends are there listening
But I don't really give a damn, no
And you might have a man around
But baby I know I'm your only
I'm your one and only man and I want you to know thatI love you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering service
I need you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering serviceI know I really hurt you deep
But since then I haven't been able to sleep
Can't you just forgive and forget but I guess not
'Cause you ain't picked up the phone yet no, noCan't you see I'm crying baby
I know you hear me baby
Talking to your answering service
I don't deserve this, oh, oh, oh babyAnd I don't give a damn if your friends is listening
So why don't you pick up the phone?
And call me up 'cause without you girl
Life is too damn tough, too damn toughI don't care who knows, I don't care who knows
How I feel about you baby
Life is too damn tough
Say it, why don't you pick up the phone?I love you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering service
I need you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering serviceI love you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering service
I need you, hope you get this message
I don't deserve this talking to your answering service

Gerald Levert (July 13 1966 - November 10 2006) was an rhythm and blues singer, one of several from the musical Levert family. His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also a member of LSG, an R&B trio also featuring Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Levert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got that Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good To You".

Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In The Champagne Room)".

In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006. Sister 2 Sister magazine reported that Gerald and his father had just returned from a 10-day trip to South Africa where they had met with Nelson Mandela and were treated like royalty. Upon Gerald's return, he was excited about his upcoming album, which is due early in 2007. Gerald died in his sleep.
