DJ Played Our Song Lyrics

Are we gonna get it on, get it on, get it on
Are we gonna get it on, get it on, get it on
Are we gonna get it on, get it on, get it onGirl it was a year ago, yeah since we said
It was over, you are still looking good
I figured I would see you and I knew that you would
Wanna come here to dance, yeah'Cause were at the reception of our two closes friends
We were the ones who hooked them up
Now their happily married and we're all broken up
(Happily married, all broken up)I see you standing there across the room
And you look so good to me
And baby I miss you
(It's come to this)Now it's come to this
(Yeah)
No hug and no kiss
(No)
We both trying move on
(Trying move on, yeah)But what if the DJ plays our song
Now it's come to this

(Oh baby, baby, babe)
I just reminisce, girl would it be wrong
(Oh)
If we were to dance if they played our song
(If they played our song)Now your daddy keep telling me to talk to you
But I don't know what to say or to do
Girl I still love you think that you love me
But my heart would be so broken if you were to reject me
(You were to reject me)The DJ said what was coming next
The song that you and me both love to play
I wonder what would make him play that one
Come to find out later it was your request
(It was your request)I didn't want for this to be my last chance
So tell me baby tell me
Can I have this dance
(It's come to this)Now it's come to this
(Yeah)
No hug and no kiss
(You don't even greet me at the door baby, no, no, no, no)
We both trying move on
(On, on, on)But what if the DJ played our song
(What if the DJ played, if the DJ played our favorite song)
Now it's come to this
(Oh you don't want to kiss me baby)
I just reminisce
(You don't want to say hello you just want me to go)(Girl I want to go on9Girl would it be wrong)
If we were to dance if they played our song
(Let's dance, can we dance I want to dance with you)

Gerald Levert (July 13 1966 - November 10 2006) was an rhythm and blues singer, one of several from the musical Levert family. His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also a member of LSG, an R&B trio also featuring Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Levert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got that Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good To You".

Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In The Champagne Room)".

In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006. Sister 2 Sister magazine reported that Gerald and his father had just returned from a 10-day trip to South Africa where they had met with Nelson Mandela and were treated like royalty. Upon Gerald's return, he was excited about his upcoming album, which is due early in 2007. Gerald died in his sleep.
