Hang In There Lyrics

Babe, why
Why must we go through this
Every other day, every other week?
Talk to me, talk to meJust because I don't hangout with you and your friends
Just because the morning time's when I come in
Just because I work so hard on the weekend
Don't mean I love you any less, girlJust because I don't buy flowers and candy
Like I used to do, girl, when you first met me
Believe I'm trying to do
All the best I can for you, oh baby, baby
But you gotta hangHang in there with me
I'll be there for company
It's you and me against the world
And I got you, girlHang in there with me
I'll be there for company
It's you and me against the world
And I got you, girl, I got you, girlWe would be making good love if it wasn't for your meddling friends
You asking questions what I'm doing, where I been

Just because you can't reach me when you want on my cellphone
Don't I get you back, tell me what is wrongI come in the house, you look so upset
Know why you're hungry, did you eat yet?
Apologizes, but what's the apology
Girl, if I was wrong, telling I'm sorry, babyHang in there with me
I'll be there for company
It's you and me against the world
And I got you, girlYou gotta hang in there with me
I'll be there for company
It's you and me against the world
And I got you, girl, I got you, girlI just want to be a man, one you love and trust
Can't let trivial things come between us
You're my [Incomprehensible] and I want you to know
I got your backBaby, don't get so emotional
Stop that you hear from those other folks
They just want it like we got
And I'm on this standing like a rockHang in there with me
I'll be there for company
It's you and me against the world
And I got you, girlYou gotta hang in there with me
I'll be there for company
It's you and me against the world
And I got you, girl, I got you, girlHang in there with me
Gang in there with me baby, baby
Hang in there with me
Gang in there with me baby, babyHang in there with me
Gang in there with me baby, baby
Hang in there with me
Hang in there with meHang in there with me
Gang in there with me baby, baby
Hang in there with me
Gang in there with me baby, babyHang in there with me
Gang in there with me baby, baby
Hang in there with me
Hang in there with meTrying baby
I know I ain't perfect but I'm trying baby
I'm trying babe, don't wanna see you cry
Don't wanna see you cry, no

Gerald Levert (July 13 1966 - November 10 2006) was an rhythm and blues singer, one of several from the musical Levert family. His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also a member of LSG, an R&B trio also featuring Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Levert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got that Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good To You".

Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In The Champagne Room)".

In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006. Sister 2 Sister magazine reported that Gerald and his father had just returned from a 10-day trip to South Africa where they had met with Nelson Mandela and were treated like royalty. Upon Gerald's return, he was excited about his upcoming album, which is due early in 2007. Gerald died in his sleep.
