Hurting for You Lyrics

Oh baby, oh babyWake up in the morning I feel so empty
'Cause nobody's there by my side
Look through my window the sun's not shining
The feeling of hurt I can't hideI get so helpless when I hear your voice
My heart starts to skip a beat
Baby, I need to feel you, just see your face baby
When can we meet, baby I'll be discreetLook in my eyes, can't you see girl
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for you
These tears I've cried, girl, should tell you
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for youI go to dinner with other girls
But all I seem to see is your face
My friends try to amuse me but they just confuse me
'Cause my head is in another placeOh baby, just give me a chance, maybe we can be friends
I just need your company, baby
Oh, for a little while I just need you around
Say that you feel the same way, same way about me, oh babyLook in my eyes, can't you see girl
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for you
These tears I've cried, girl, should tell you

That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for youOh baby, there's not a thing that I wouldn't do for you
I'll go as far as you want me to
I'll give you all my time every day every hour
With gifts of love, I promise you I'll shower youOh my baby, my baby, my baby, my baby
Oh can't you see me? I'm cryin', I'm cryin' babyLook in my eyes, can't you see girl
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for you
These tears I've cried, girl, should tell you
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for youLook in my eyes, can't you see girl
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for you
These tears I've cried, girl, should tell you
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for youBaby, just understand I just wanna be your man
Let me be if I can, baby won't you take my hand?
Lead me away to somewhere new
I just wanna spend the time with you
Baby, why don't you be my gal?
I'll give you anything you want in the whole worldLook in my eyes, can't you see girl
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for you
These tears I've cried, girl, should tell you
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for youOh baby, see I am trying to be the best for you
I'll do anything you want me to
Just give me one chance, be my love
You must have been sent from aboveI wanna be the one to take your hand
Baby, baby, won't you please let me be your man
Understand, now feel my need
Baby, you'll see I'm hurting for youLook in my eyes, can't you see girl
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for you
These tears I've cried, girl, should tell you
That I'm hurting for you, I'm hurting for you

Gerald Levert (July 13 1966 - November 10 2006) was an rhythm and blues singer, one of several from the musical Levert family. His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also a member of LSG, an R&B trio also featuring Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Levert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got that Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good To You".

Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In The Champagne Room)".

In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006. Sister 2 Sister magazine reported that Gerald and his father had just returned from a 10-day trip to South Africa where they had met with Nelson Mandela and were treated like royalty. Upon Gerald's return, he was excited about his upcoming album, which is due early in 2007. Gerald died in his sleep.
