Just Us Lyrics

Girl, I hate to call you up on your job
But I had to let you know that this bullshit got to stop
You're my woman now and you're full grown
Got a baby in my hand and your mama on the phoneHit me with the boo-boo all on my ear
Talkin' 'bout the business over here
You better check 'cause you know that I fear
She don't know me that well, I don't careJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry meJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry meAnd girl it reach a point about four five time
Tryin' to tell me I'll take care of this baby boy of mine
Talk about did you feed him? Yeah, he should take a nap
Better step to your girlfriend before the trick he slapHit me with the boo-boo all on my ear
Talkin' 'bout the business over here
You better check 'cause you know that I fear

She don't me that well, I don't careJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry meJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry me[Incomprehensible]
Like he mean he will
So he don't like the way I treat you
Tell him go to hellHe told a friend of mine
That he gon' whip my ass
Till you let your brother know
I say he know what I'll do, yeahHit me with the boo-boo all on my ear
Talkin' 'bout the business over here
You better check him 'cause you know that I fear
You don't know me that well, I don't careJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry meJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry me'Cause I love you
I love you, I love you
I love you, yeahTake your meals on time
Make your baby's mind
Give you my last dime
I'm yours and you're mine
Just you and meJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry meJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry meLove you, love you
Love you, love you
Love you, love you
Love you, love youJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry meJust us, just you and me
That's how it's supposed to be
All your friends and your family
I ain't gonna let them worry me

Gerald Levert (July 13 1966 - November 10 2006) was an rhythm and blues singer, one of several from the musical Levert family. His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also a member of LSG, an R&B trio also featuring Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Levert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got that Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good To You".

Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In The Champagne Room)".

In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006. Sister 2 Sister magazine reported that Gerald and his father had just returned from a 10-day trip to South Africa where they had met with Nelson Mandela and were treated like royalty. Upon Gerald's return, he was excited about his upcoming album, which is due early in 2007. Gerald died in his sleep.
