Someone Lyrics

Somebody if anybody someone told you
That I've been hanging out
Cheating at night someone if anybody
Should get that story rightTell them they need to go get a life
'Cause I don't need someone dhecking up on me
Watching my every move in sight
And you don't need those kind of worries
To be messin' your, messin' your mindGirl you know that I'm not that kind of guy
And you need to just ask yourself why
Would I waste my time to commit such a crime
Lose the best thing I have in my lifeSomeone's trying to come between me
And you can't you see what they're trying to do
They can't stand to see something so right
See two people so satisfiedSomebody if anybody, someone told me
That when you go out they say you're so nice
Somebody, nobody had to tell me
That you danced and talked with lots of guysAnd I don't know why they feel
The need to let me know that you've had a good time

Maybe they thought that I would
Get jealous get upset with you and start a fightBut they don't understand that the love we have
Is much stronger than they can conceive
There's no jealousy, there's no need
To be, 'cause my lady only lays down with meSee I'm down with this girl
She's my whole wide world and she's down with her man
They don't seem to understand
We've got a love that's honest and trueNo one will ever come between us two
And everybody so confused, but it ain't
Nobody's business what we doSomeone's trying to come between me
And you can't you see what they're trying to do
They can't stand to see something so right
See two people so satisfied

His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also a member of LSG, an R&B trio also featuring Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Levert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got that Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good To You".

Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In The Champagne Room)".

In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006. Sister 2 Sister magazine reported that Gerald and his father had just returned from a 10-day trip to South Africa where they had met with Nelson Mandela and were treated like royalty. Upon Gerald's return, he was excited about his upcoming album, which is due early in 2007. Gerald died in his sleep.
