Wasted In Jackson Lyrics

Screen door slamming on Woodhaven, laughing
We better take cover
Careful, we're gonna get caught in the rain if you don't hurry
I got a vision of somewhereAnd I've seen places in this book I borrowed from my uncle
Stick around, stick around, all I hear is stick aroundBut everybody's wasted, I don't wanna waste in Jackson
Never gonna face it, no one wants a change in Jackson
But I'm wide awake now
Breaking out, breaking out, sorry townIt's like being stuck in Disneyland, it's perfect, ain't it?
But there's not a single good ride
I'm tired of playing cowboys and Indians with you
Nothing comes from nothing and there's so much nada here
Stick around, stick around, all I hear is stick aroundBut everybody's wasted, and I don't wanna waste in Jackson
Never gonna face it, no one wants a change in Jackson
But I'm wide awake now
Breaking out, breaking out, sorry townHell, I'll never take you with me
You just keep on trucking pretty
There's no use in coming for me
Stick around, stick around, all I hear is stick aroundBut everybody's wasted and I don't wanna waste in Jackson

Never gonna face it, no one wants a change in Jackson
But I'm wide awake now
Breaking out, breaking out, sorry townBreaking out, breaking out, sorry town
I'm breaking out, I'm sorry town
I'm breaking, I'm breaking out
I'm, I'm sorry town

Once upon a time there was a girl called Lauren. She lived in grassy, green Madison County, Tennessee where people are as sweet as the tea they make. She'd sing songs in her yard and run around with ballerinas, big kitty cats and her brothers all the livelong day. One winter evening Lauren decided she wanted a change of scenery. She wanted to leave her comfortable grasslands and start a joyride. She traveled far to La La land and danced with the faeries in Beverly Hills, all the while humming along to Bob Marley and playing pianos.
