You Oughta Be With Me Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
You oughta be with meHow come you look so sad? You got me feeling bad
'Cause I know that I can make you happy
Yes girl, I might don't do, I don't want to see you blue
But you won't give me a chanceThe guys that you hang around
Just try to bring you down and I don't like it at all
Girl, give my love a try I'll keep you satisfied
I promise youGirl, I adore you, do anything for you
You oughta be with me
Girl, I need you, I'll try my best to please you
You oughta be with meWhen you come home at night

I'll make you feel so right
See this is what I'll do
I'll run your bubble bathMassage you with these big strong hands
Wouldn't you like that baby?
Oh, kiss you from head to toe
Because I want you soI'm telling you the truth baby
And after all of the above
We'll make real serious love
Can't you see? You wanna be with me babyGirl, I adore you, do anything for you
You oughta be with me
Girl, I need you, I'll try my best to please you
You oughta be with meGirl, I adore you, do anything for you
You oughta be with me
Girl, I need you, I'll try my best to please you
You oughta be with meCheck this out
See nobody would do you like I will
I got a special kind of whip appeal
Kiss it, rub it, flip it over
Remember baby, I'm your CasanovaSo forget the other brother he's nothing but a zero
And dial my number let me be a hero
Girl, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder could tell
That really oughta, really you should, you oughta be with meYou oughta be with G
Can't you see, you oughta be with me
The G E R and the A L D, the L E V E R and the T
And you really oughta, you really oughta be with meGirl, I adore you, do anything for you
You oughta be with me
Girl, I need you, I'll try my best to please you
You oughta be with meGirl, I adore you, do anything for you
You oughta be with me

Gerald Levert (July 13 1966 - November 10 2006) was an rhythm and blues singer, one of several from the musical Levert family. His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also a member of LSG, an R&B trio also featuring Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat

During the 1980s and early 1990s, Levert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got that Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good To You".

Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In The Champagne Room)".

In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.

Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006. Sister 2 Sister magazine reported that Gerald and his father had just returned from a 10-day trip to South Africa where they had met with Nelson Mandela and were treated like royalty. Upon Gerald's return, he was excited about his upcoming album, which is due early in 2007. Gerald died in his sleep.
